Honour Based Violence and Forced Marriage

  • Forced Marriage Unit: 0207 008 0151. If you are worried you might be forced into marriage or are worried about a friend or relative.
  • Karma Nirvana: 0800 5999 247 Mon – Fri 9.00am – 5.00pm. Supports all victims of honour based abuse and forced marriage
  • Muslim Women’s Network: 0800 999 5786 / 0303 999 5786. A confidential specialist helpline available for those suffering from or at risk of abuse. Men and boys at risk of forced marriage are also invited to call. 

Legal Advice Services

  • National Centre for Domestic Violence: 0800 970 2070. Provide a free, fast emergency injunction service to survivors of domestic abuse regardless of financial circumstances, race, gender or sexual orientation.
  • Flag DV: 01635 015854 Mon – Fri 11am-1pm Provide free legal advice for women, LGBTQ individuals and men affected by domestic abuse, with a referral form on their website.
  • Domestic Violence Assist: 0800 195 8699.  A charity which assists in arranging Non-molestation Orders, Prohibited Steps Orders and Occupation Orders.  24 hour helpline.

  • Aylesbury Vale & Milton Keynes Sexual Assault & Abuse Support Service (AVMK SAASS): 01296 392 468 – Free service offering support to women affected by sexual assault, rape and child abuse (Formerly Aylesbury Vale Rape Crisis)
  • Citizens Advice Bucks: 0808 278 7938
  • Muslim Women Network: 0800 999 5786 / 0303 999 5786. The only national Muslim women’s organisation in the UK offers a range of services and support, including a helpline, counselling and events. 
  • One Recovery Bucks – 0300 772 9672 – Free and confidential service for anyone 18+ using or affected by others use of drugs or alcohol  Support service for people who need support to manage and maintain their accommodation if it is at risk.

Housing

  • P3 Charity: Support service for people who need support to manage and maintain their accommodation if it is at risk.
  • Fairhive Springboard Grants: Grants of up to £300 are available to support Fairhive (formerly Vale of Ayesbury Housing) residents with opportunities for wellbeing, education, training or employment.
  • Aylesbury Homeless Action Group (AHAG): Provide support and advice to those who are homeless, at risk of homelessness or inadequately housed.

Mental Health and Crisis Support

  • Bucks Mind: Mental health support including wellbeing services, counselling, befriending and peer support.
  • Bucks Safe Haven: Crisis support available in person or by telephone. Call between 6- 12midnight 01296 453017 Sunday – Wednesday or 01494 218098 7 days.
  • Samaritans: 116 123 available 24/7.
  • Shout: Mental health support 24/7.

  • The Hideout: Help and support for children and young people who are living with domestic abuse.
  • Too Into You – information and support for young women and healthy relationships.
  • Kooth: Provide free, safe and anonymous online support and counselling to young people.
  • You & Co is Victim Support’s youth programme that helps young people cope with the impacts and effects of crime.
  • Switch Bucks – 01494 527000 – Confidential drug and alcohol information and support service for young people aged 10-18 years (25 where appropriate) and their families/carers.

  • Respect: 0808 802 4040 – Information and advice to support domestic violence perpetrators stop their violence and change their abusive behaviour
